Wild Birding Adventure: This 20-day Bhutan birding tour takes you through diverse landscapes, from subtropical lowlands to high-altitude forests. We’ll visit top birding hotspots like Kharungla, Yongkala, and Zhemgang, with chances to spot rare gems like the Beautiful Nuthatch, Ward’s Trogon, and White-bellied Heron. Along the way, we’ll also explore Bhutan’s rich culture with visits to iconic sites like Trongsa Dzong and Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Arrive at Guwahati Airport in Assam, India.
Drive through the lush plains of Assam towards Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan’s southeastern border town.
Enjoy an evening birding session around Samdrup Jongkhar, exploring its tropical and subtropical forests.
Possible species: Wreathed and Great Hornbill, Sultan Tit, Black-backed Forktail, Colared Falconet, Drongo, Black-naped Monarch, Blue-eared Barbet, Blyth’s Kingfisher.

Morning birding around Samdrup Jongkhar and Deothang, known for their evergreen forests and rich biodiversity.
Ascend towards Morong, stopping for birding along mossy, broad-leaved forests.

Two full days of birding along the Zhemgang – Gomphu Road, leading to Manas National Park.

Drive via Tamala, stopping for birding along the way.
